Tomorrow’s official turn-over of responsibilities at the Municipal Local Government Unit of Lasam, is not a major changing of guards, with incumbent Mayor Dante Dexter A. Agatep having already taken his Oath of Office for his third and final term as the duly elected Local Chief Executive for the next three years.
THE LOCAL LEGISLATURE IS GETTING FRESH BREATH OF AIR with the assumption into office of Mayor Agatep's eldest daughter as the new Vice Mayor of the Municipality.
HON. DANNAH PAULA T. AGATEP, Vice Mayor and Presiding Officer
With an accounting and management background from the prestigious University of Santo Tomas, the new Municipal Vice Mayor vows to support legislations on intensifying livelihood and social services programs, with emphasis on the youth sector where she belongs. She aims to be a catalyst toward digitalizing LGU operations.
HON. REYNALDO A. VIERNES. Having served in law enforcement for many years and as a licensed pharmacist, SB Viernes brings a combination of expertise in peace and order, as well as health for the greater benefit of Lasameños,
HON. WILSON M. CONSTANTINO. With long and proven track record in the education sector and community service, SB Constantino is expected to become the maestro for the LGU to be more responsive to learners, teachers, and parents.
STILL STANDING AT THE SANGGUNIAN
HON. RANDY C. CAMBE. Prior to graduating as three-term Vice Mayor, SB Cambe was previously a trusted staff of four Municipal Mayors of Lasam. With a formidable combination of executive and legislative abilities, the new SB member is to remain a dynamo at the Municipal Session Hall.
HON. LILIBETH BARUT-DEL ROSARIO. Having served as the Legislative Committee Chair of the Committees on Agriculture and Women, Family, as well as Social Welfare, SB del Rosario promises to remain a prime mover of social services and high impact programs like those of the Natalged Women Council.
HON. EMMANUEL F. AGATEP is likely to maintain Chairmanship of the Committee on Economic Enterprises with his able charge of market operations. He is also concurrently Chair of Committees on Environment and Natural Resources; and Games and Amusements.
HON. JOANN KASTEN. V. ASUTEN served as the Chair of Committees on Education and Rules, Laws, Privilege's and Human Resource Development, a role that has put him at the forefront of capability-building events or initiatives.
SAGGUNIANG BAYAN RETURNEES
HON. RENATO R. PAAT, JR. As a one-time Vice Mayor and previously already a legislator, SB Paat returns to the Session Hall armed with a Juris Doctor diploma. Add to that the wealth of information he wields for the greater benefit of Lasam.
HON. FELIX V. GERARDO, JR. Also a former Sangguniang Bayan member, SB Gerardo got a call-back to the local legislature for his wisdom on educational management that resonated well to both parents and teachers, being a Parent-Teacher Association leader.
All 42,000 Lasameño constituents are pinning new hopes to these local batch of leaders and their own brand of leadership, for a better life ahead, here in the newly-minted First Class Municipality of Lasam.
Sangguniang Bayan members Hon. Federico O. Castro and Hon. Wilson F. Constantino are graduating from the local legislature. SB Castro will still serve the LGU in the capacity as a consultant, while SB Constantino has his eyes set on the upcoming barangay elections.#
