The Tinupigan in Alannay is a row of tinupig makers and sellers who would offer you piping hot tinupig straight from their charcoal ovens. From Barangay Ignacio Jurado, Auntie Francing’s patupat is a suman delicacy that would be secretly brought abroad for its distinct flavor. The same thing with the kalasukos of Barangay Nicolas Agatep. Both kangkanen ladies are always busy with bulk orders you will be on a waitlist, for sure.

Talking about Lasam cuisine, what could be more tempting than the native chicken tinola, kinilaw nga aso/kalding, tinuno nga dalag/paltat/tilapia, pinaketan ng aba/agurong/bisukol/leddeg. As mainstays of the usual Lasameño table feasts; each barangay will delight you with their own variation of these. Thus, the Lasam Food Tour was born starting with “Viga: Kakaiba Ka” in 2021. The Aldaw ti Lasam is the highlight of the summer festivities of the town. The 72nd founding anniversary of Lasam was special because it was also the inaugural of the newly-elected local officals of 2022. As in the previous years, general atmosphere in the town was festive and fun.

Lasam is an agricultural community where the great majority of our people depends on rice farming as the prime source of livelihood. With our abundant rice harvest, the native rice delicacy tinupig has put Lasam in the world map in 2015. We pride ourselves in cooking 2.8 kilometer-stretch of our mouthwatering tinupig, thus, the "Tinupig Festival" was born. This feat attests to the tenacity of Lasameños.
