DISASTER RESPONSE

The Municipal Disaster Risk and Management Office (MDRRMO) is in-charge with the disaster readiness and humanitarian services programs of the Local Government Unit of Lasam.

MDRRMO is headed by Mr. Rudy T. Urian, RN, and his office is composed of well-trained and qualified disaster response team.

For 2022, Lasam MDRRMO’s efforts were validated both in the Regional and National Gawad KALASAG Award to be “Fully Compliant.” The Office of the Civil Defense’s Gawad KALASAG (Kalamidad at Sakuna Labanan, Sariling Galing ang Kaligtasan) recognizes MDRRM Councils and Offices for the effectivity of their disaster preparedness and response programs.

RISK PREVENTION

MDRRMO puts emphasis on risk prevention and mitigation of the effects of a calamity or disaster that may strike the municipality. It organizes disaster preparation meetings and issues appropriate warnings via its Facebook.

DRRM Orientation and Trainings

The MDRRMO conducts Risk Reduction and Management seminars and trainings in schools and offices so that more residents are oriented on appropriate safeguards against various risks.
