The Local Government Unit of Lasam hosted the 16th Regular Legislative Session of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan convened by Vice Governor Melvin “Boy” Vargas at the Lasam Municipal Session Hall last October 17, 2022.
During the customary Monday flag raising ceremony, Mayor Dante Dexter A. Agatep led the Lasam-LGU officials and employees in welcoming Vice Gov. Vargas, his staff, and the Members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan namely, from the First District: Board Member (BM) Romeo Garcia; from the Second District: BM Randy Ursulum, BM Archie Layus, BM Kevin Timbas; and from the Third District: BM-Majority Floor Leader Rosauro Resuello, BM Rodrigo de Asis, and BM Mila Lauigan.

In his remarks to the Lasam-LGU officials and employees, Vice Gov. Vargas bared that Lasam is among the five municipalities that will benefit and receive P2.5 million under his Child Development Program. “I was chosen by the people to serve and I will dedicate my last term as your Vice Governor with dedication and commitment to my fellow Cagayanos,” said VG Vargas in his speech.
While the provincial legislative officials were in session at the Lasam Municipal Session Hall, LINGAP was also simultaneously held at the Western Cagayan School of Arts and Trades (WCSAT). This is a program that provided free medical, dental, optical and legal services. Other government departments and agencies also offered help to those who might have concerns with DTI, DOLE, PHILHEALTH, PAG-IBIG and also the SSS.
