Cooperation, Interoperability and Unity Brought to Fore
The Local Government Unit of Lasam has just concluded a Capacity Development Training and Teambuilding for its officials and employees from March 30 to April 1, 2023 at the Sunland Farm Eco-park in Ambatali, Ramon, Isabela.
Mayor Dante Dexter A. Agatep had ordered this training a priority activity of LGU-Lasam within the first quarter of 2023 where the central themes of cooperation, interoperability, and unity were highlighted in the three-day exercise.
DAY 1 . A week leading into the event, the LGU officials and employees were tasked to prepare for presentations dramatizing their departmental functions.
At the opening night hosted by MPDO Coordinator Arch. Rodel T. Urian and Ma. Cherimie Barut, the departments took turns in showcasing songs and dances that regaled the participants.
DAY 2. A morning exercise with the now-famous Natalged Walk popularized by the Line Dance Competition organized by the Natalged Local Council of Women kicked off the second training day.
Chief Human Resource Specialist Jovy Miguel of Civil Service Commission (CSC) Region 2 served as a resource speaker and workshop facilitator.
The HR Specialist then regrouped the participants in a way that allowed them to self-evaluate their respective roles in the LGU. Afterwich, the participants were engaged in several workshops that promoted cooperation and unity.
By reexamining the functions of each worker, section, and department in the LGU, MDRRMO Chief Rudy T. Urian, pointed out how interrelated the roles of each member of LGU-Lasam are.
HR Specialist Miguel also cited the updated organizational structure of LGU-Lasam and impressed upon the officials and employees that an improved economic class of the municipality redounds to better work setup and salary structure and that each official or employee has a vital role toward that goal.
Judge Ramses S. Peralta of the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Aparri branch was also invited to remind and update the LGU officials and employees on the provisions of R.A. 6713 or the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards of Public Officials in the afternoon.
DAY 3. A Closing Program was held after the morning routine. Mayor Agatep delivered a message that cemented his call for cooperation and unity when he opened the training and also reminded the importance of open communication channels within the LGU.
Some participants shared their own takeaways from the training and teambuilding. Municipal Government Employees Association of Lasam (MGEAL) President Rodel Deza expressed gratitude in behalf of the employees and said: “each employee is behind our SGLG Mayor and together we are a force for good for Natalged a Lasam.”
The entire delegation took time to visit the 1,000 Steps at the Magat Dam before heading home.
