The road to the accreditation and registration of the Collective Negotiation Agreement (CNA) of the Municipal Government Employees Association of Lasam (MGEAL) was long and arduous but it was recently been approved by the Civil Service Commission, Department of Labor and Employment, and other appropriate agencies.
The CSC is scheduled to hand the Certificates of Accrediation and Registration to LGU-Lasam and MGEAL officials. Both Mayor Dante Dexter A. Agatep, Jr. and MGEAL President Rodel Rafael-Deza, together with the rest of the officers, are proud that finally, the CNA has materialized.
With such CNA, and MGEAL as the negotiating unit, LGU-Lasam employees can now broker favorable terms and conditions of employment, or improvements that are not fixed by law.
One such benefit is the CNA Year-end Incentive as a reward mechanism towards employee cost-efficiency and productivity. This is regarded as a huge motivation in delivering and improving performance targets, at lesser costs.
Depending on the savings in Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses (MOOE), every LGU-Lasam employee stands to receive an incentive equally divided among MGEA members. Relative to this, Mayor Agatep has spoken about operating cost-cutting measures by all employees.
