December 13, 2022

Mayor Dante Dexter A. Agatep, Jr. has just formally accepted for the Local Government Unit of Lasam its plaque and certificate of recognition as a National Awardee of the 2022 Anti-Drug Abuse Council Performance Awards during the ceremonies held December 13, 2022 at The Tent City, Manila Hotel.

Mayor Agatep was with Municipal Local Government Office (MLGO) Head Reenie Heidy C. Tollo in accepting the Award from DILG Sec. Benjamin “Benhur” Abalos, Jr. and the DILG Undersecretaries.

They were joined by Municipal Planning and Development Office (MPDO) Head, Rodel Urian; Information Officer, Renato “Bongpy” Paat, Jr.; and Municipal Disaster Response and Risk Management Office (MDRRMO) Head, Rudy Urian, Jr.

For this latest recognition to the relevant programs of LGU-Lasam, Mayor Agatep shares the pride and honor with all those who work towards the aspirations of Natalged a Lasam.

The National ADAC Awards is a recognition to the outstanding performances of provincial, city, or municipal Anti-Drug Abuse Councils (ADACs). The Awards assesses functionality in the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of anti-illegal drugs activities in their locality. The results of this year’s assessment and validation were released last month.

Soon as Mayor Agatep assumed office in his first term, he stepped up various anti-drugs programs in Lasam. These efforts paid off with the initial ADAC recognition bestowed the municipality in 2021.

As a National Awardee this 2022, the intensified efforts of the Municipal Anti-Drugs Abuse Council are validated even further with the perfect score rating of its various programs. This is an affirmation of the fulfillment of Natalged a Lasam Goal Pillar (NLGP) for a Drug-free municipality.

The recognition can also be attributed to the diligent watch of local Philippine National Police (PNP) force now headed by PMAJ Efren P. Tangonan. Add to this the various social welfare and development as well as sports programs that the LGU-Lasam has been supporting to provide healthy distractions among sports-savvy constituents.

Other anti-drug abuse programs have since been initiated and carried out such as those by the local Community Based Anti-Illegal Drugs Advocacy (CBAIDA) group.

Just last month, representatives from various sectors took part in the local launching of the Buhay ay Ingatan Droga ay Ayawan (BIDA) campaign at the Natalged Park. #
