Following the Oath of Office of the duly elected Barangay and SK Officials last November, each barangay has selected and appointed its own SK Secretary and Treasurer. It was their turn to undergo of the Mandatory SK Training at the Natalged Arena on January 9, 2023.

Accompanied by their SK Chairpersons, the appointive secretaries and treasurers took part in the whole-day training that begun with Local Youth Development Officer Gerlyn R. Yang’s statement of purpose and SK Federation President Jilton B. Pascual acknowledging each of the participants.

Municipal Local Government Operations Officer Reenie Heidy C. Tollo then oriented the participants on Decentralization and Local Governance. A briefer on the SK History was presented by former SK Federation President Jerwin A. Manuel, now Peru Punong Barangay. Secretary to the Sanggunian Franklin R. Calso gave pointers on Holding Meetings and Preparing Resolutions.

Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator Ar. Rodel T. Urian kicked-off the afternoon session with the importance of planning; the output forming the Annual Youth Development Plan.

LGOO VII Luis E. Udanga, DILG Head of Cagayan Northern Cluster was also on hand to provide an update on SK Reforms.

Municipal Budget Officer Jose A. Rebultan, Jr. and Accountant Johanna Rea M. Simon took turns on budgeting, accounting procedures, and auditing rules.

Former Vice Mayor and now SB Member Lilibeth Barut del Rosario presented and challenged each participant to live by the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards befitting all public servants.

To end the long day, Public Information Officer Renato R. Paat, Jr. relayed Mayor Dante Dexter A. Agatep’s call for cooperation and unified efforts in crafting and delivering responsive services to his Lasameño youth constituents. #
