AGRICULTURE
As primarily an agricultural town, the large majority of the residents of the Municipality of Lasam are engaged mostly in rice, corn, or vegetable farming; growing high value commercial crops; as well as livestock and fishery production.
MAO is headed by Mrs. CARMELITA P. RIVERA
The Municipal Agricultural Office (MAO) is mandated to address the concerns of a big percentage of the town’s 42,000 population. While the office is usually preoccupied with mostly rice or corn farmers, MAO attends to the entire farming, livestock, and fishery sector.
With the Municipal Agriculturist at the helm, Focal Persons are designated with respective assignments in providing assistance for farmers and fisherfolks to achieve optimal harvests. They are duty-bound to assist the greater majority of Lasameños improve their quality of life.
